STRANGULATE are an Indian, Kolkata (West Bangladesh)-based old school, raw, and brutal sounding Death Metal duo. They were formed in 2012, and have been active ever since. With only two members - Denzil and Subhasish - they have been working pretty hard for the past 4 years since their formation just so they could release their long-awaited skull-crushing debut album; and if you ask me, they found the perfect label for the album's 2016 release - which was no one else but the legendary Transcending Obscurity Records/India.

The album consists of 8 tracks, each one of fair length. At this juncture I would like to highlight that if you are in search for even a trace of modern sound, you won't be finding it on this record. Brutal vocals, sharp riffs, an old school, raw and brutal based atmosphere, everything that's on here reminds you of the days when the genre was "new".  The record starts off with "Barbaric Decadence", a sick intro track that is worthy of blasting. The second one "Primordial Execution" is bit more organized and well produced - although the album has a great sound all over. "Dungeons Of Despair" is another track (the third) that is worth mentioning, for it's extreme sound.

Look at that cover art, look at the track names, the logo, the design, the lyrical content... do you feel nostalgic too? You should! This band proves that no matter what country you come from, no matter what you play, no matter the financial situation, the only thing that matters is the music, (and that's all that matters). If You like IMMOLATION, early CANNIBAL CORPSE or perhaps BOLT THROWER, give the debut album of this fantastic band a spin then.
