STENCH PRICE are a Grindcore supergroup that takes the chaos of Grindcore and tones it down a little with Lounge (elevator) music sporadically throughout the album. Pretty much right on the head what the album is right? Well, how about we add that the album has an interesting mix of vocalists including, but not limited to, Danny Lilker from BRUTAL TRUTH, Dave Ingram from HAIL OF BULLETS and Shawn Knight from CHILD BITE.

So let's start with the three main songs that feature the Lounge music injected into them, "Living Fumes", "Furnaces Burn" and "The Vitality Slip". In all honesty, it's a weird mix, not that you couldn't piece that together yourself, but as much as I want to say it works, it absolutely kills the pacing of each of these songs and does them absolutely no favours. The latter of them, "The Vitality Slip" actually just sounds like a bad/early GWAR song instead of sounding anything like the rest of the album. Now, I will concede that "The Genocide Machine" is a killer track and actually does deserve a ton of credit, the song is very well written and thankfully isn't pulled down by the mood killer that is Lounge music, unfortunately, it's also the shortest song on the album. The final two songs are lacklustre in their own rights, they don't have a ruined pacing, but they don't really have any real crunch to them, they really just feel like filler songs.

There you have it, a lacklustre album that's only brought up by a single song. If i had to give you any tips, grab "The Genocide Machine" and just ignore the rest of this release. It's not worth your precious time when you could be listening to better things, or just the one song over and over again.
