Since their origin more than a decade ago, SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION are another example of the power of Metal and how when it comes to passion and music no boundary is enough to withhold the power of Human creativity. Originally named SOUTHERN BREWTALITY, their name kept during the first two years of their career, SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION are a Death and Roll band originated in the city of Rome, Italy dedicated to drinking merrily, watching Spaghetti Westerns and playing an amazing form of Metal that I could have sworn came from a state that had fought for the guys wearing grey during the civil war; well-seasoned veterans in the art of shredding, SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION the band formed by Pinuccio Ordnal in 2005 releases their third Full-Length Album in a perfectly well versed embodiment of southern death metal that would make any son or daughter of the lone star state proud in the form of Vultures of the Black River, a must in every sane person that knows what real music is made of.

They say sense of humor is reserved only for those provided with wisdom and SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION are the transubstantiation of that very phrase. You know how there are things that make you feel right at home from the very first minute you have contact with them? SNL, Breaking Bad, and Bill Hicks along with the musical talent and prowess needed to depict a memorable example of Death Metal with Southern riffs and Speed Metal solos, where do I sign? The entire atmosphere created by this album is a relentless onslaught directed straight to jugular as a swift hack from a b-series rated serial killer in an unexpected blonde bimbo flashing her..., well, you get the picture. The manner of connecting a Speed Metal bridge to create contrast with the sludgier tones, as in the title track "Vultures of the Black River" is in my opinion one of the main ingredients that make this an outstanding work by the Italian Party Animals known as SOUTHERN DRINKSTRUCTION.

A true delight if such a term can be used to describe such a brutal approach to today's music scene, this record manages to obtain impeccable production and the layers of different intonations for both instruments and voice will get to the very core of the Metal Heart inside of us all readers of Metal Temple. The reference to Bill Hicks' character in the song "Goatboy" is yet another example of the disguised genius of great minds working together under the essence of a porno-gore song tied all together My favorite thing about this album along with the attitude of this band towards life.

I just have one doubt that will surely keep me awake tonight, What in God's name is "Thuv"? Well, apart from being like the numerous awesome things that it is compared to, a rhetorical question? A conundrum within itself? since I surely doubt it has anything to do with the astrological reference, because there is not much of a numerically defined life path in a punch from Bud Spencer, this track will stick to your head like a true hit from the Italian born actor, but then again, I would immediately spend my time with any of the pastimes mentioned in the lyrics of this outstanding song.
