Sorronia - Words Of Silence album cover

SORRONIA is female fronted Symphonic Gothic Metal band from Budapest, Hungary, formed in 2011, line-up was ready to hit the studio by 2012 and shortly afterwards working of the debut album, now released, called "Words Of Silence".

"My Eternal Land", came out as probably my favorite of them all. I truly admired the integration of the gentle singing with the piano play, a symphonic atmosphere variegated with an epic climate and a selection of heavier riffs. Anna Király shares various of elements also known from ex-NIGHTWISH, Tarja, amazingly charming. I could easily point out the same on the follower, "Leave It Behind" enhancing even further the impressive connection between enchanted singing, riffery and general aura. "Fallen Angel" turns to the obvious Gothic vibe that this band generates, quality melodic patterns in the vein of EVANESCENCE and WITHIN TEMPTATION. The keyboards, vocal choirs and lead guitar licks, resembled the profound displays on several NIGHTWISH releases. "Serenade of Memories" is heavier than the others, not what I would call high standards, yet still quite electrifying, fabulous guitar solo with nice melodic singing with a similarity to the Hungarian band ALHANA. I would apply the dynamic nature of the drumming, emphatic. "Enemy of Yourself", came out as the album's single, discharged heavy guitaring with a tight rhythm section, pretty smooth sail with a fine orchestral elements. Also worth the trouble are "This Is the End" with fantastic guitar solo, "Shattered" that surges with plenty of orchestra  instrumental demonstrations and "Lost in Falling" that is another NIGHTWISH follower.

Summing it up, there is no doubt that SORRONIA have the knowledge of crafting a true Gothic Metal album, whether with or without the symphonic attributes. "Words Of Silence" felt good, energetic and at times pretty bombastic, adequate assortment of ideas  Generally their music would be accepted mostly by NIGHTWISH, EPICA, WITHIN TEMPATION fans and of course Metalheads that enjoy a good beating by a heavy riff.
