After a 16 years hiatus SOLSTICE makes a comeback with their release of "Death's Crown is Victory", a 26 minutes EP. Composed of two songs, "I Am the Hunter" and the title track, and two instrumentals, "Fortress England" and "Aequinoctium II", the release of this EP marks the return of a great underground band who, at least according to their Wikipedia page, is often said to be responsible on expanding the Doom Metal genre together with CANDLEMASS and SOLITUDE AETURNUS.
The only bad thing that can be said about this EP it's that is too short; from beginning to end this is a great album with great riffs and great leads not to mention the powerful voice of the new lead singer Paul Kearns, his voice fits greatly in this band.
So if you are fan of this band or a fan of Doom Metal in general go check out this record even though it is a very short EP it is enough until their new full-length album comes out.
