SEND MORE PARAMEDICS are members of the living dead, cannibalistic zombies consumed with an unholy desire to devour living human brains. Their music can best be described as Zombiecore - a hideous fusion of 80's style thrash metal and modern hardcore punk, contaminated and deformed by an obsessive fascination with zombie b-movies. They were formed in 2001 and since then, SEND MORE PARAMEDICS deliver pure old school Thrash Metal enriched with some Hardcore/Punk elements. Someone could call it Crossover, but it is not exactly like that. The speed of course reaches the highest levels and this is mostly due to the poisonous riffs Medico's guitar spits. There are times when this band will surely remind you of the legendary DIRTY ROTTEN IMBECILES (aka D.R.I.), as well as the old CORROSION OF CONFORMITY. There some nice leads here and there and you will also find some nice Hardcore moments that are exactly what you need to mosh! The speed almost never touches the mid tempo level, and that shows what SEND MORE PARAMEDICS want to deliver, pure 80's Thrash/Crossover!

The lyrics have to do with zombie stuff; do not forget that these guys are drawing their lyrical influences from zombie b-movies. Walker and Owen make the album more tempting, but in the end, all that's left is that great 80's feeling. The band cannot touch the 80's even for a second in my humble opinion. They are good, but not good enough to make you want to listen to The Awakening for more than 4-5 times. At least that's what they made me feel.

There is also a second CD that contains a John Carpenter style soundtrack that will remind you of what you listen to during a horror movie. The second CD also contains a video clip for the song Nothing Tastes Like This and a synopsis about the whole concept.
