S.D.I.D. - Home Made Part One - DEMO album cover

Now here's something I don't get to listen to very often. S.D.I.D. play a mixture of modern Rock and shock Metal (the way Rob Zombie described it in its early steps). Though I assume that such kind of music is quite popular in the United States and not that much in Europe, I can't say we get a lot of such works here for review. Why is that?
Anyway, the band's bio is a bit typical and doesn't give much feedback for the reporter, at least I learned that the idea of S.D.I.D. existed for more than five years. It took that much for the current lineup to be formed. Home Made Part One is a... home made recording, a four-track Demo recorded in four weekends, in 2005. Well, for a home recording the sound is very good.
Speaking about the music, I can say that I found all four tracks to be interesting compositions, of course this is not actually my cup of tea but I can't really say that I didn't like it. The compositions are quite rich, the use of two different vocalists (both male and female vocals) and samples made the listening more interesting. I liked the third song, Change, the most that starts with a nice acoustic part where Kolbrun Nakszynski proves she has a very good voice.
In conclusion this could have been an extract from a full length album. It is quite obvious that S.D.I.D. can have an impact on their scene. Fans of the genre, check them out.
