ROTH BROCK PROJECT is a two man rock group with tons of 80's energy. If you are feeling nostalgic this is most certainly the band to cure that itch. With the first track, "Young Gun," you will immediately feel the energy. These guys just exude pure rock. As a kid raised in the 90's, I was treated to a lot of 80's growing up, and this track brings me back. The soaring vocals give the feeling of being there all over again. The main guitar riff is so solid, it sounds of tight leather and smoky bar rooms. It's not all attitude and grit however, "Distant Voices" showcases the boys' ability to write a ballad. The guitar tones the distortion down a bit and the vocals are a tad bit soulful. The progression feels like this could be a slow dance song. With quick guitar fills throughout, you can really feel the soul in this track. "We are Fire and Rain" hits back with more of that pure rock energy. The guitar riff in this track feels a little darker with well thought out fills placed appropriately. Harmonizing vocals on the chorus are quite satisfying. In true rock n' roll fashion, there is a killer solo after the second chorus that showcases a lot of skill.

Track eight, "Fighter," does not let the energy die as the track leads with a killer solo. The vocals on this track are noticeably difficult, though they are flawless with vibrato and extreme highs. The guitar solo in the middle blends soul and skill to put of some serious heat. Toning things down a bit "My City" sounds like a "road song" to me, something you would listen to as you leave everything behind. The blend of piano and guitar has always been a favorite of mine and this track is no exception. The vocals have clear heart, he really means it and I can feel it. The guitar solos between the choruses' sound fantastic, the tone is a perfect fit to the tone of the track. "Never Givin' Up" starts with a high, droning synth accompanied by a killer guitar solo. The vocals build as the drums come in. There is a dissonant resolve in the chorus, I'm loving the progression. This track is super "feelsy", if this were a movie, it would be the part where the hero was coming back to the friend that betrayed him. Very mellow in comparison to the rest of the album with the exception of some sweet soulful guitar solos scattered throughout. The track ends in my favorite way, with a fade. Almost as if to say "and then they jammed for the rest of time".

So here we are at the end of the album with "Reason to Believe", and they don't let up. The best way to describe this track is "EPIC" and that is not an understatement. Synth leads of violins lead into a face melting dueling guitar solo. This guy has some guitar chops and he wants to let you know it. The vocals have not fallen short either, nor did I expect them to. The track ends with a super quick strum guitar solo... as I said before...EPIC. This album was fantastic and I had a lot of fun reviewing it. The album brought me back and made me feel like a kid again. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to re-live the 80's, or get into 80's if you weren't before.
