PROMETHEE are a Progressive Metal/Hardcore band that was formed back in 2008. PROMETHEE are from Geneva, Sweden and are putting out their latest release "Unrest" through Lifeforce Records. The release will be out in Europe on September 4th and in the US on October 2nd.
PROMOTHEE have unleashed another hell-bent fury of Hardcore anger and rage on their latest release "Unrest". "Our Common Fall" talks about the problems that continue to plague humanity, and ruin our world the way we know it today. "Dark Souls" talks about the problems life has handed people, many of whom never even asked for these kinds problems. "Broken Structures" states that our society has fallen and been destroyed by the things that are happening today. There is no repairing what we have ruined. "Lost Body" is about people who are simply pawns in the greater game of life. "Age Of Unrest" simply sums up how people are living today. No one knows what comes next, and no one knows what we are in store for in the future, and it is leaving people unsure of their futures and quiet uncomfortable with the prospects of the future. People are taken advantage of and are treated quiet poorly.
In the end, "Unrest" has come over this earth. It's a rather grim outlook on life, and on how things are going for most people in the world today. PROMOTHEE cover many "dark" topics of rejection, vacancy, unrest, and lost souls. The background music is skull-crushing drumbeats and breakneck guitar riffs along with a lower growling, angry, screaming vocal performance. The heavy, sludgy sounds mixed with the themes of "Unrest" in our world makes a point that we have no clue where humanity is going in the future, and about how there is no going back into the past.
PROMETHEE make it clear that Hardcore themes can be grim, depressing, and sometimes saddening, but at the same time provides a stark, real picture of reality and how humanity has effected its own existence by letting "Unrest" creep into our society, and to allow people to not be sure where things will go next. Many people feel this way in our society today, and give those people a voice to realize that while we may not know where we are going in the future, we are in this together, and we have found our way this far and can continue to find our way into even an unrest-ful future.
