It won't take you long to fall in love with the German / Romanian band POWERWOLF. As soon as you hear the glory in their music, you will feel the power rising within you. "Blood Of The Saints" is their fourth album and you will definitely notice the similarity to the Swedish SABATON. However, POWERWOLF came forth with something else, something more melodic with equally high quality anthems. Those energetic and memorable appetizers will carry you to ancient times when the choir starts singing while channeling the feeling before the march to the final battle. A good example is "All We Need Is Blood", although I found the lyrics a little bit hilarious, if you get in the song's mood there is no way that you are going to regret on identifying with it.
In general, "Blood Of The Saints" provided more melodic and aggressive Power Metal that you can ask or handle. "Die, Die, Crucify" will throw you once again back in time. It has strong sections besides the chorus that made it so dynamic and flowing just as every POWERWOLF track. Just to keep you on the loop, I would like to see one person that won't raise his fist in the air and shout "We Drink Your Blood". This will get you so enthusiastic as its spirit is so bombastic and filled with greatness, I am sure that their live concert will be like a crowded sing-along to each chorus they have.
Attila Dorn's vocals seem to move from low to high notes. He sounded quite professional in his singing range, combining the bombastic toned opera chanting that mixed well with the roughness Heavy Metal singing patterns. The organ sound was quite a filler while contributing the right tunes. That instrument had a central role in leading the songs and creating the war atmosphere along with the drums that has been shown like on "Ira Sancti (When the Saints Are Going Wild)".
I would say that the opening "Sanctified With Dynamite" caught my ear but if you were looking for the melodic Hard Rock song I would suggest on "Murder At Midnight" as the right one for you. Furthermore, if you were looking for the RUNNING WILD speedy style, I present you "Dead Boys Don't Cry". I would also recommend on "Son Of A Wolf" that is yet another catchy melodic Metal anthem that will carry you toward another pompous chorus. No doubt that there has been a huge effort on the production. With a rich sound besides guitars, bass and drums you will feel the considered thought behind the vocal works and organ channels that were placed.
In the end, if you followed my words up until now, you must heed my warning because POWERWOLF is your next addiction.
