Israel is a great Metal scene, indeed, for I can hear some very good names coming from that country every day, and from all kinds of Metal you can think, and one more excellent name coming from there is the quintet MATRICIDE, that after two EPs, now comes with the first album "When Random Turns to Fate".

A furious Metalcore can be heard, with some Groove Metal aspects, aggressive and pulsing with energy and life. And no: the band has a strong personality. Good extreme voices (strangely, they use more melodic voices only a few times, but is good the way they are here), great guitar works (I missed more solos, but it's alright), bass and drums strong in the rhythmic basis, and with a good technique. The album seems to scream "I am alive" every moment.

The sounding from the album is alright, harsh, heavy and clean with no trouble to hear all the instruments and feel the songs the way they are. It's oiled and aggressive as their music demand.

The album is very good as a whole, but their finest moments are: "Further From the End" (a catching song, with great riffs and vocals), "Not An Option" (good drums and bass presence and good tempos), the wonderful and full of feeling "Burn Me with Your Sun" (what a great guitar solo and more melodic presence from the band), and "The Point of No Return" (the bass presence here is very good).

Really a revelation, so, let's hope them a great future. Going this way, it'll be a reality soon.
