LISTANA is a Progressive Symphonic Metal female fronted band from Istanbul, Turkey. Group was formed in 2011 and in October 2013 has released an EP called "Unveiled".
Opening "Istanbul: Birth of a Dream" has gentle flute, stronger guitars, nice keys, great work of rhythmic section and vocalist is great - her vocal is powerful, opera style sometimes and innocent. Piano mixed with powerful drums, symphonic elements and progressive fine change rate with oriental climate. Single track "Elveda" in English means "Farewell" is singing in Turkish language with gentle guitars and piano sounds like a ballad, but guitars building higher atmosphere with memorable refrain which is singing in choir and make this track very emotional. Other song singing in Turkish language is "Hasret" which in English mean "Longing" and has heavier riffs, total oriental climate, progression fabulous section and even little folk echoes make this song really interesting. Great is guitar solo together with piano! "The Legend of Hellespont" is opening by calmer guitars, but higher climate is building during the time of song. Tempo of song is change from slower to faster and making more intensity. Brilliant guitar solo is here and marching drums give interesting ton to this track.
Each song is other and has difference. This music has climate. Musicians of LISTANA has their way & follow it perfectly. This album is totally interesting; in their music is noticeable passion. You wouldn't be bored, because you can still find new sounds. From powerful song to relaxing on good night. Surely you nowhere can find a band that plays such music, which triggers so many emotions through sounds in music.<
