Lacerated And Carbonized - The Core Of Disruption album cover

The life in Brazil, day by day, is very harsh and difficult. Corruption, violence, drugs being sold in every street, corrupted cops stealing people money and closing their eyes to crimes, a big and sad country to be, even with World Cup and Olympic Games occurring in the next years. All these facts make our living here a hell on Earth sometimes. And this hell is what the quartet LACERATED AND CARBONIZED, coming from Rio de Janeiro, shows in the lyrics of their new work, the album "The Core of Disruption", a masterpiece of extreme Metal.

After "Homicidal Rapture", a fine debut, they return with their Brutal Death Metal, but with a more dynamic way of playing and some influences of Brazilian percussions here and there, with low tone grunts, strong a powerful guitar riffs and solos well constructed (throwing out the old model of "note-tremolo-note"), bass and drums in a heavy and technical rhythm basis. These, together, makes a powerful, brutal, oppressive and compact sound, but be sure: you can be exiled from your neighborhood for listening this CD too loud.

A clean and heavy sound production awaits us all, done by Caio Mendonça and the band itself, with the helping hand of Flávio Pascarillo and Julio Oliveira in sound engineering, and mixing and mastering done by Andy Classen in Stage One Studios. So, be prepared to have your years aching for some time. The artwork depicts the lyrics, with images from all kinds of abuses and crimes we see in the city of Rio de Janeiro, far away from what TV and internet show, the painful truth that the governments never show: here, there is no tropical heaven, but the very bowels of hell.
The CD is perfect from the start to the very end, but you can see some greater works in "L.A.C" (great guitar riffs, a very good work from vocals, and a guest apparition from CONFRONTO's Max Moares), the oppressive and heavy-weight "Third World Slavery" (with good tempos, and a fantastic drums' work, with some tribal percussive sounds), the brutality made music of "The Candelária Massacre" (the lyrics describe a sad moment of Rio de Janeiro's story, when abandoned children were killed by cops during a night. Obviously, the children were criminals, but where were their fathers back then?), with a good participation from PAINSIDE's vocalist Guilherme Sevens; and "System Torn Apart" (this one remembers more the work from their first CD, but with a more lapidated musicality).

LACERATED AND CARBONIZED toured in 2012 in some countries of Europe, and with "The Core of Disruption", they'll become the next great name from Brazilian extreme scene. And of course, will make all ear's doctors smiles...
