Enemy Of God
Kreator

Aaaargh! The masters of true European Thrash are back and they are determined to raise the flag of hate - but especially the flag of Thrash / Heavy Metal - high again! From a chance we had to meet Mille in person he proved to be a self - confident, low profile, extra - cool and peaceful guy! This remark itself is self-contradictory since Kreator's music is fast and furious, full of sharp edges and should be handled with extra care! In other words this marvelous piece of music springs with energy, very cool - never ending ideas, combining the sharpness of a razor blade with the texture softness of a cotton ball. This happens due to the fact that melodic phrases are extremely well blended with sharp riffs and aggressive, furious vocal lines from your local throat butcher Mr. Mille Petrozza!
Mille calls the result of this album an evolution of our own universe, a kind of summary of Kreator's history without recycling anything. Enemy Of God was produced by sound magician Andy Sneap, who gave the new album a powerful and thoroughly metallic sound at his Backstage studios in Nottingham. It is also worthwile to mention that the x-Carcassian Michael Amott of Arch Enemy / Spiritual Beggars contributed a guitar solo on Murder Fantasies. Don't forget that the music is as brutal as the lyrics. Highlights of this Kreator-ian spiritual meal (since music is the food for thought, right?) is the title track, equipped with the classical mid tempo Kreator-like change in the middle of the song, Voices Of The Dead a mystique song combining the aforementioned contradictory elements of sharpness/melody; Under A Total Blackened Sky - which the untrained ear will find elements of The Haunted inside it but it's Kreator who first introduced this riff playing style; Impossible Brutality; The Ancient Plague plus many more songs!
The other 3 members of the band have performed marvelously - especially Ventor who's playing is still violent and revolutionary and his soul is certainly not in coma since somebody thought that he was an outcast (a what?), but he returned with more extreme aggression, feeling the endless pain, to lead him under 'the drummer's guillotine'!
Impossible Brutality will be the first single release from the album and the video is bound to cause a chaos in the music world. A word on the sleeve artwork, must also be mentioned. It was designed by Joachim Luetke, who has worked for Dimmu Borgir and Rage and has packaged the legendary Kreator aesthetics in a modern new outfit. And of course a new Kreator offering would be unthinkable without a tour, so Mille Petrozza and his three comrades in arms will be seen on stage again soon - hopefully with Ektomorf in Greece (and elsewhere). Kreator's new CD, Enemy Of God, will be available at a music store near you on January 11th 2005 (ear insurance not included!). It will be released along with a bonus DVD featuring lots of surprises. Next to a Making Of of the new album, there is lots of background information on Kreator, two live cuts of Toxic Track and Coma Of Souls, the brand new Impossible Brutality video plus a number of additional extras that Kreator consider as their hidden diamonds.
