Knights Of The Abyss - Juggernaut album cover

What the fuck it this? This looks more like a name for a 5x5 soccer team than a band's name! And what is this label? Siege Of Amida? Something tells me that either this review will tear my brain apart or it will be a really easy one. Just by guessing (band's name, cover etc), this must be an epic Death Metal band or something like this. Let's see what KNIGHTS OF THE ABYSS and Siege Of Amida have to offer to the Metal audience.

There is a strange story behind how this album was recorded. Half way through the recordings, Mike (vocalist) had to stop because of a vocal strain. Their friend and merch guy Dustin was the one to help them with the vocal duties. KNIGHTS OF THE ABYSS are here with their debut album through Siege Of Amida Records and I am more than curious to see how the result sounds like.

The Arizona based metallers deliver an album far more different from what I expected it to be. Juggernaut is a Deathcore album that reminds of bands like AS BLOOD RUNS BLACK, ALL SHALL PERISH and JOB FOR A COWBOY. Let's not forget the fact that Andy is JOB FOR A COWBOY's ex drummer. I can admit that JOB FOR A COWBOY are way better than this band that tries to create decent Deathcore and ends up releasing an album full of common and uninspired compositions. The production is - traditionally - great, but the songs are not even decent. The band tries to use the classic recipe to achieve success, but it seems they just fail.

Not many more things to comment on Juggernaut. Heavy, brutal and... boring! If you want some good Deathcore go buy some ALL SHALL PERISH and JOB FOR A COWBOY albums, or should I say any MISERY INDEX album?
