Poland, home of some of biggest acts in Black and Death Metal like BEHEMOTH, VADER, AZARATH etc... And into my personal archive I welcome KINGDOM with their astounding LP, "Morbid Priest of Supreme Blasphemy". Cheesy name for an album, I know, but it's the Death / Black Metal underground, and the dedication found in that area of the musical world is beyond any in whatever genre you can think of.
Before I decided to review this album I decided to check out KINGDOM's older LP, "Unholy Graveyard" and see how they developed. Turns out the band works pretty well on their formula, and whilst sticking to the old school Death Metal formula, still manage to sound much fresh, mature, and of course destructive and heavy as fuck. To justify my said statement, every track on this album draws influences from different corners in the genre the band plays, and not 1 song sounds like filler on the release.
The vocals to me are what stood out the most, with them making the lead singer sound like some fiend from the depth of hell, and everything else needs no mention as they are very well done and executed and give the album the proper atmosphere it conveys. Also, expect an amazing cover by NIHILIST on "Supposed to Rot".
"Morbid Priest of Supreme Blasphemy" is a must listen for fans of both, new school and old school Death Metal. It's a bomb you should never miss on adding to your arsenal of deadly Metal weaponry.
