Katergon - Endless Life album cover

KATERGON, or to be more precise Dirty & Weird Music, recently sent us is two track EP for a review. And who gets all the weird stuff? Me of course! The fact is that "Endless Life" proved to be better than I thought it would be and it kind of attracted my attention with its unique sound.

KATERGON hail from Switzerland and this EP is their first ever release. "I Am The Sea" begins with a really beautiful bass line and some Psychedelic effects from the guitars supporting it in the background. As if this drug specially designed for your brain wasn't enough, Jan Marchand enters the scenery with his hypnotic, almost chanting vocals to finish you off. The track later becomes a bit more aggressive, reminding me a bit of THE OCEAN's latest works. Their Post manifesto doesn't stop here of course, since after the almost 10 minutes long opening track, we have "Endless Life", with its wicked opening riff and the heavy as fuck breaks, which all show the dark side of KATERGON. 8 minutes of heavy, slow and monotonous riffing are more than enough to send shivers down your spine.

All in all, "Endless Life" is a pretty good work for a debut release, but I will surely be waiting fro a full-length album to see if this quartet can perform equally well. Until then, thumbs up for KATERGON!
