I Am Risen
Irdorath
And when you're not expecting something from the underground in special, then appear some band that put your house roof down to the ground and cause problems with neighbors. And the fine Austrian quartet IRDORATH is one of these very good names that appear sometimes, astonishing us all, and "I Am Risen" is a proof of it.
A good and thundering mix between Thrash and Black Metal, without sounding as a clone of something from the 80's or from Norway's great names, these guys really deserves a careful hearing. Good harsh vocals, excellent guitars (both in riffs and solos, and in these last ones, they don't make some kind of frantic noise. They really play good solos!), bass and drums in a very good shape, creating a heavy and well worked-out basis. And their music flows perfectly, heavy and intense as it must.
Good sound production, clear and intense in the needed way, without showing a heavy and massive work, but so clean that I can clearly appreciate their work with no problem at all (we can hear all notes from the riffs), and the cover is really a drawing that will haunt some most fearful fans...
Their music is excellent, having their greater moments in "God Raped" (a perfect track, with great riffs, good drumming and excellent tempo changes), the great "Liar" (see the good vocal duties, and bass shows its technique), "Minions of Lust", "Sale of Indulgence" (marvelous, it's all I have to say about it), "Hammer and Nails" (hear and fell the great melodies in the guitars), the hooky "No Human No War" (with a more slower tempo, where vocals shows their power), and the death sentence "Mother of All Lies". But there's a bonus in "Windgeist", from their first album "Götterdämmerung (Zorn der Elemente)", in a good and new version.
Sons of Satan, gather for the attack, but don't forget you "I Am Risen" copy.
