Here is a brand new Memento Mori release, the new and first debut full length album by the Chile-based Death Metal band INFAMOVS. Interesting name...along album title also - which by the way is "Under the Seals of Death" - and although this an early 2017 release, it is one many have overlooked; and I'm here to prove those wrong. What this band is doing is setting the nasty and harsh yet incredibly raw growl vocal types into war with the even nastier guitar riffs and incredibly raw and loud drums. "Into the Death" is a fine, short song, and is a great example when it comes to showing off how the album will sound on the rest of the tracks. You can hear some of the previously mentioned vocalizations, a lot of slow riffs, and basically an overall slow but brutal atmosphere. Very enjoyable!
Active since the start of 2015, this band managed to remain pretty underground since then, releasing only two pieces of material in the form of the current, 9- track full-length, and a two sided, 7- track EP entitled "Emanation of Impure Heresies". Although the very first EP didn't sound bad, I think that this album is their best so far. The second track, "Dawn of the Black Dance", is a surprise after what one could hear on the first one. A huge surprise indeed, because the vocals have gone completely mad, the guitars are raging and incredibly loud (way louder than previously heard) the drums are even tighter, shifting from blast-beats to just incredibly fast tempos. Although the song itself isn't focused altogether on speed, I must say that it's really fast. The intro was fast, whilst the second half of the song focuses on more atmospheric vocalizations and riffs, which are semi-fast, really fast, and sometimes incredibly slow. There is a small pinch of Black Metal is sometimes added to the mix, but overall, this is an incredibly talented Death Metal band that deserves more recognition!
