In Utero Cannibalism - Butcher While Others Obey album cover

IN UTERO CANNIBALISM is a pure Death Metal band coming to us from Greece. They were formed in the beginning of '04, and their first demo album was released almost 10 years ago. "Butcher While Others Obey" is their fourth full-length album. IN UTERO CANNIBALISM suffered throughout the days of many band members leaving, and many labels changing, yet they did not give up and continued making their music, regardless of what others might think.

The sound of IN UTERO CANNIBALISM is not very unique for Death Metal. The drums are fast and hollow, the guitar riffs fits perfectly to the drums. The growling is very low and not clear, and the lyrics are probably about death and killing, or Butchering if you may. Even though for most times the sound is of pure Death metal, from time to time there's something completely different. Those parts might be the only thing that I could relate to in this album.
The album "Butcher While Others Obey" begins with the song "Silent Abuse" that has a nice spoken Intro to it. This song and the ones following it, quickly become fast, pounding and noisy. But although the sound of all songs is alike, you can still notice something that gave my ears, for the least, some comfort. For instance, in the second song "Dawn Of Devotees", there's a nice melodic riff underneath the heavy drums. In the third song, "Exile", there are some guitar solos that are not bad at all.

All in all, even though not enjoying this genre or sound for even a bit, I did noticed some fine parts in this album. IN UTERO CANNIBALISAM are very professional and accurate, they defiantly know what they are doing. Perhaps it's a matter of personal taste, but I did miss a bit more flair to their music. I would love to have seen more melodic parts, and for god's sake, I want to know what are they singing about?! (without reading the lyrics). Apart from those, this album is absolutely fine.
