In Search of Sun - The World is Yours album cover

Well, the old lands of UK always gave birth to good bands in Metal and Rock since the 60's, it's a historical fact that everyone must know very well. And it's not a mere case to see a good name as IN SEARCH OF SUN appearing on those lands. And maybe "The World is Yours", their first album, is a first coming of a future strong name on the entire world.

It's not really a Metal album, but a Rock'n'Roll album with some Metal and even Hardcore aspects, as we can hear on the vocals (that reminds something from James Hetfield's tunes on "Black Album" Era), some very good and distorted riffs, but the whole insight of their work is not to Metal public, but to a broader public. Their music is accessible and melodic to this point, but is not Pop or AOR. It's too introspective for that in many moments. But to resume the question: this is a good work, indeed.

Such album deserves a good sound quality, and this was done to it. Of course it could be a bit better in some aspects, but it's not bad. Some guitar tunes could be better chosen in some moments, but they really did a very good work on recording, mixing and mastering on "The World is Yours".

As best songs, we could name the heavy and eclectic "The World Is Yours" (a tasteful song, with very good work from guitar and vocals), the more accessible and melodic "51 56" (with some more harsh moments, especially on the chorus), the almost dramatic and introspective "In Search of Sun" (with a good drumming and bass work, along with some clean guitars moments and the very good use of wah-wah in solo interventions), "Burn" and its very good tempo changes, and the power ballad "Skin". The other ones are best as well, so hear the album carefully.

A good surprise and hope can become great in the future.<
