between Two Worlds

I is what someone would roughly call 'Black n' Roll'. What's that? Well, try putting together members from black metal bands and have them playing something between Thrash and 80's style traditional Heavy Metal and you'll see what I mean. So in other words, this album truly stands between two worlds...
We are talking about an all star band featuring guitarist Ice Dale (Enslaved), bassist T.C. King (Gorgoroth), drummer Armagedda (Immortal) and Demonaz (Immortal) in lyrics. After a few years of absence of Immortal and the recent announcement of their active return, Abbath and his gang, put aside the corpse paint and the extreme black metal outfit and manage to give us a different taste of what they are capable of as musicians.
This album is full of reminders of the Motorhead sound, has rock n' roll touches that are evident in tracks like The Storm I Ride and Cursed We Are and enhances the Bathory-ish element in tracks like Warriors and Between Two Worlds, without leaving aside the Quorthon tribute through the song Far Beyond the Quiet. Catchy riffs, great production and vocals varying from clean and melodic to black metal rasps showing the rock attitude the way Black Metal understands it.
Surprising and satisfying result revealing Abbath's alternative perspective in music, something that surely black metal and not only fans will appreciate.
