Hard Action - Hot Wired Beat album cover

Some bands in our modern days are resurrecting that old format of Hard Rock with a more aggressive and modern insight. These updates are generating good names, and opening different musical possibilities. Some prefer to be play in a melodic way, others on a nasty one, and a third group prefer to be in the middle. The Finnish quartet HARD ACTION is on this last group, delivering a massive musical crush with "Hot Wired Beat", their new album.

We can compare their musical work to a kick in the door Hard Rock/Rock 'n' Roll, being aggressive and melodic at the same time. It's not raw, and even with such aggressiveness dripping from the songs, you hear easy and catchy melodies on the entire album. This insight isn't new, but the way they play results in a personalized musical work. Listen to it and be blown away! On the sound production, all works fine. The producer has built a sonority that can bind together the aggressiveness and melodies, and with a very good level of sound clarity that allows us all to understand the band's essence. Even not being as technical as some would like, their music work as a modern AC/DC.

Although the entire album is very good, the melodic raw essence of "Free Fall", the charming energy of "Nothing Ever Changed" (a fine chorus can be heard here), the short and catchy approach of "Hostile Street", "Running Start" with its Hardcore guitar sound (even with very good melodies), the purest Rock 'n' Roll bitter taste of "Knocked Down, Dragged Out" (very good vocals are presented on this song), and the punch in the nose called "Tunnel Vision" (a great and solid rhythmic work can be heard here) are their finest moments. Listen to it at any cost, and understand what HARD ACTION is about.
