#YOLO
Finsterforst
There are times that the creative power of some bands really astonishes Big Daddy, and this one of those times! Yes, because to gather together such different musical influences into one form of music is really something hard to do. But the German sextet FINSTERFORST seems not to fear trials, and they are coming with this excellent EP "#YØLØ" that will try your convictions. Imagine a band with Folk Metal outfit and some influence from extreme Metal using some good touches of Industrial Metal. This is a very good approximation of what you're about to hear, and their music is filled with catchy melodies, very good choruses, and great doses of energy. Yes, they are pretty different of the greater part of Folk Metal bands that we usually hear.
In a few words: the sound quality of the EP is excellent, because to know how their music must sound and bringing it to reality is not something easy to do. But it was accomplished, and everything is sounding heavy and it must be, but with a sense of clarity that is hard to find sometimes. Their songs are all fine, but their best shots are the nasty and catchy "Bottle Gods" (with aggressive moments from guitars, but showing great keyboard parts and excellent choirs) and "Auf Die Zwölf" (that follows the same aesthetic sense, but with very good use of their extreme influences due the fast tempos in some moments, and the very good grunts), "#YØLØ" and its eclectic keyboard parts (in some moments, you have the clear idea that someone is playing a saxophone) and Folk feeling; the purely Pagan/Folk song "Hangover," and their versions for songs as "Wrecking Ball" (from the Pop female singer MILEY CYRUS, that became a heavy ballad), "Beat It" (yes, the old musical success from the King of Pop MICHAEL JACKSON is here, where some Industrial influences appear a lot) are really astonishing. This is what Big Daddy here calls the right way to gather influences and to create something that is yours. Great band, and great EP! Oh, by the way: I loved their video on the review. I am Brazilian, so see the video and understand why I am laughing myself until pissing in my pants.
