Kill Your Demons

EMIL BULLS, an Alternative Metal/Rock outfit devised in 1995 is amongst the best German bands at the moment. With breathtaking melodies and heart crushing riffs, the band has a successful back story and a fair discography. Even though I haven't explored much about their body of work, based upon the responses I have been getting regarding their last album, I'm pretty sure that they haven't made a disastrous album yet. With that in mind, I have high expectations for this album as this is my first exposure to their music.
With an anthemic intro track, "Kill Your Demons" the album starts off energetically as it goes into the second track "The Ninth Wave", which is more melodic and catchy compared to the precedent. By the time the album gets to the fifth track, "Once and For All" it's clear that the album is more centred around the melodic and catchy sing-along choruses, and memorable short lived solos. Talking about solos, "Euphoria" has one, which is perfectly executed and is well-timed, perfectly covering the transition from the catchy sing-along chorus.
"In any Case" is probably my favorite track on this album. The song itself brings back the heavy, groovy tone that perfectly fits along with the catchy cleans done on the chorus section. The heavy tone is strong in the following track, "Gone Dark" as well. The album ceases with yet another melodic number, "Arise Dear Spring".
Overall, this is an album that is definitely worth a purchase. "Kill Your Demons" is a perfect album that has a fair balance between aggression and euphony. These experienced Alternative Metal Rockers have crafted an album that will surely become a fan favourite and I hope they keep exploring their sound, as old ways won't always open new doors.
