Elegis - Hail To The Tyrants album cover

ELEGIS is a Death Metal band from the singer Baron who sings and plays all instruments on his own latest release. "Hail To The Tyrants" is Baron's latest release since becoming a solo project in 2011. "Hail To The Tyrants" was released Independently on September 6th, 2015.

ELEGIS is a very impressive one-man Death Metal band from the singer Baron. It is quite an impressive feat that one person can play all these instruments and sing all the vocals on this album by themselves.  Title track "Hail To The Tyrants (Remix)" begins with a high-pitched guitar bit before breaking into song with deep, groveling vocals about people who want to rule the lives of the people under then no matter what, and will do anything to be able to keep that control. These people succumb to these tyrants, and their lives wind up being a living hell.

"Chronicles" begins with a low, slow guitar solo and slamming drumbeat before breaking into song about how the chronicles of human history have seen these tyrants rise up and control people and the people often succumb to the leader, and have their lives ruined by their power-hungry tyranny. "Hail To The Tyrant" [original] is the newer remixed version of the opening track which is slower, heavier, and lower-pitched than the remix was. The vocals are still deep and groveling in the same version of that song. "Disinherited" begins with another massive guitar bit that sounds almost celebratory till thundering drumbeats jam in and break the song into a much heavier tune. This track has sinister laughs in the background that make the entire track eerie and creepy. It talks about the human race and how gullible and stupid humanity can be. "Rezim" is the final track on the album, and is a musical piece with a heavy drumbeat, and breakneck guitar riffs that move on to a quiet solo to end the EP.

ELEGIS has Baron's creativity firing on all cylinders as he puts together a brilliant album, "Hail To The Tyrants", that pays homage to the people who feel the need to control the rest of humanity at any cost, and the people who buy into it. This EP talks about the devastation that results from the people buying into these tyrants, and the entire way tyrants take advantage of the system to destroy the lives of those beneath him. The raw power and passion on the album indicate Baron's anger with the people who do this to the people beneath them, and how he is fed up with people who are spineless and let the tyrants rule over them in the first place. It's a great point that we have seen repeat itself many times before in history, and sadly that won't change in the future unless humans take their own stand. It's a great work by Baron that is made more impressive by the fact that he created this entire masterpiece all as a one-man band.
