Ektomorf were founded during 1994 in Hungary. Their debut album Hangok (which stands for voices) was released in 1996 via Vida Music. Ektomorf have been through many line up changes to reach their current line up form. After signing a contract with Nuclear Blast, they released two full-length albums with Outcast being their third.
Outcast is based on the same structure every other Ektomorf CD is based, but it still achieves to sound fresh and new! Many people call them Thrash, other people call them Hardcore, other people call them Neo-Thrash. Zoltan said the right thing. We had a small conversation (also known as interview) and he said: No, I don't like putting tags on music. I just call what we play aggressive music Hell yeah! Ektomorf play aggressive music! You can sense that these guys are pissed off in every single note! Every track shows how much disgusted they are with the current society! Influenced by bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Sepultura and mostly Soulfly (sorry about that one Zoltan), Ektomorf produce a strong and fresh outcome that will make your head bang and your ears bleed! The track titles are small and inclusive for one more time. Their music also contains many folk influences from traditional music from countries like Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and of course Hungary!
Now it's time for the album's great surprise! Ektomorf usually pick a bit weird tracks to cover like they did in I Scream Up To The Sky (2002), when they had covered A Hard Day's Night, originally performed by The Beatles. Outcast contains a cover of Prodigy's Fuel My Fire. I have to thank Ektomorf because they proved me right! I always said that Prodigy's songs would be great Metal covers and everyone thought it was funny. Zoltan is a genius! I say that because if I am not mistaken it was his idea!
Anyway, lovers of the new aggressive sound of Metal get the fuck out of where you are now and go buy this little gem! There is no way you will be disappointed! Fans of Ektomorf, if you are reading this review it seems you are not real fans of this band! I don't think that they will ever let you down! As Zoltan says... LET ME SEE YOUR FUCKING FISTS!!!
