Reverse
Eagleheart
Since the iron curtain felt at the end of the 90s, the Metal scene in Eastern parts of Europe increased a lot. It's not a mere coincidence that countries like Poland, Ukraine and Russian are revealing very good names every single day. From Czech Republic, from the city of Brno, comes the Power Metal quintet EAGLEHEART with the band's third album, "Reverse". It's very good form of Power Metal on traditional way, but with some very good orchestrations and even great epic moments. It has a great influence from names as ANGRA and RHAPSODY OV FIRE, but they are far from being a copy of those bands. Showing an elegant and strong personality, using very good instrumental arrangements and fine vocals parts (with the invited guest Martin Klekner doing the harsh voices on "All I Am", "Palace of Thoughts" and "Mind to Decipher"), and even And some violins (played by Adrian Malovanik on "Erased from Existence") the band shows that its work is really good.
When we speak about the sound quality, we must say that it is really excellent. The work of the band's guitarist Michal Kůs as producer, having Zdenek Ondráček working on the mixing and on the mastering, so we can say that their efforts were done in a way that the band's music flows loud and clear, with all musical instruments in their ideal places, but with that essential dose of musical weight. Roland Grapow made some work on the recording and engineering that makes the sound of the band dense and heavy (and he plays some solos on "Enemy Within" and on the alternative version for "Erased", as well as some backing vocals on "Painting the Shadows by Light").
Musically, they are amazing, because their songs are really charming, with good and catchy choruses, and we can hear that the climatic and dense feeling the fills of "Until Fear is Gone" (with its fine guitars and keyboards) and "Healing the Scars", the Progressive touches that are heard on "All I Am", the heavy and elegant musical arrangements of "Reverse" (very good vocals, indeed), the tender melodies of "Erased from Existence", some Hard Rock touches that can be heard on "Endless", and the strong and heavy "Painting the Shadows by Light" are the best songs of the album.
"Reverse" is really a very good album, so check it out.
