Divercia - Cycle Of Zero album cover

Over the last years Finland has provided us with many remarkamble bands that in turn have supplied us with excellent works. Unfortunately Divercia doesn't give me that feeling. This kind of music is not so close to my style. They remind me of the melodies of Him combined with the symphonic parts of Nightwish which I'm not a fan of.
Divercia was previously known as Lost In Twilight, issuing the Planeteer EP under their former name. Lost In Twilight arrived during 1998 touting a seven track, self-financed, totally instrumental album called Descending Mist. The line up of the band, founded some four years earlier, was billed as a quartet of guitarists Jarno Laakso and Sami Inkilainen, keyboard player Jarno Hanninen and drummer Janne Hanninen. The four track Forever Autumn EP arrived in the Autumn of 1999 and would debut the band's new vocalist Jyri Aarniva. Lost In Twilight would add bassist Jukka Hoffren for the Planeteer EP, issued by Sound Riot Records during 2000. The band having recorded tracks for the album Modus Operandi in the Summer of 2001, took on the Device then Divercia name tag to sign a deal with Dutch label Hammerheart Records. The second album Cycle Of Zero was recorded at Sonic Pump and D Studios in Finland and mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox. Newly installed on drums for these sessions is Teemu Laitinen from Thy Serpent and Throne Of Chaos.
This album could absolutely match as an album of Him or Nightwish. The vocals remind me a lot of Him in many parts, but not entirely brutal-free on the vocals. The music doesn't remind me of the Finnish style but I'd say it's rather  Swedish, with many symphonic parts and keyboards like Nightwish. Swedish riffs like those of In Flames with a much more Gothic passages. The keyboards are an active part of Divercia's music.
All the album has a high energy and generally happy mood which makes me tired of hearing that all the time. No doubt this is not my favourite style of music.
This release also includes a video- clip of the song Overwhelming, which has a Gothic theme, with vampires and lots of women (all the guys will adore this clip).
