DISTANCE's debut well suited title "I" will be released worldwide on November 10th 2014 by the Denmark prime label Mighty Music, this Spanish Modern Metal outlet is rated among the best hope in their home country, mixing MetalCore melodic flavors with some serious yet brutal Thrash Metal riffage ("Chemical Trails") and enhanced by some atmospheric progressive elements, driven by some dynamic electronica tricks, somewhere between slight biomechanical sounds and Nu-Metal influences!
Of course, in this genre the alternative schizophrenic vocal style is required, and it's the main problem; while the characteristics of the harsh parts are dynamic and quite attractive, the melodic clean singing seems uncontrolled and sloppy ("Conception"/"Too Late")... His range and capacity seems to be restricted to gruff and scorchy.
"Seeker Of Truth" is the worst cut, the best example of a song ruined by a more than mediocre singer, corrupted by some Alternative inflections... My advice is to recruit another guy for the real vocal moments! Musically the band is up on par with the current scene and the result could have been rated higher, but unluckily Morgan's performances are adrift, way down under the modern standards.
The hypnotic "Process Of Self Destruction" & "Open Wound" are still enjoyable and finally recommended, with the opening track "Fragments", we have a good tryptich of song to finish this short analysis on a positive note.
