The labels given to some bands and Metal genres are just a great pain in the ass. If you believe in words to describe a total musical conception, you'll have a distorted and limited idea of what they are doing. So, my personal advice: hear and judge for yourself what a band plays. This is the best way to deal with acts as DEVLSY in their second full length called "Private Suite".

The descriptions about their genre that I read on internet say that the quartet plays a form of Post-Black Metal. To me, it's just a fusion of Black Metal played in a slow way (like BURZUM did on their classic works) with disgusting and abrasive tunes from Sludge/Stoner Metal. It's really good, but in some moments their songs start to sound repetitive to our senses. They have potential, and do a nice work, but they can dare to show a better work than we hear on this album.

The sound quality of "Private Suite" was built to be raw and filthy, but even with some excesses, it's not so bad. You can understand the band what they are playing without complains, but they could have done it on a better and a cleaner way. I know that Black Metal must have that essential rawness, but it's a bit beyond the point on this album.

The album has sis songs, each one of them with their own value. But the melancholic and raw melodies of "Corridors", the slow and dirty riffs of "Bring My Word", the brutal grasp and aggressive voices of "Patient#6", and the dense and introspective "Porta Formica" can be named as their better moments.

"Private Suit" is a good album, but I truly believe that DEVLSY can do better. So, do it, guys!
