Crystal Palace - The Systems Of Events album cover

The sixth album by the German band CRYSTAL PALACE is ready to go out; this album entitled "The System Of Events" is the result of a work of three years from the date of their latest release "Reset". CRYSTAL PALACE is a band with a custom style that revolves around a very atmospheric Progressive Rock, a words that make me able to make a comparison with PORCUPINE TREE. Even after a few listens, I noticed several differences between the two bands style.

If you are familiar with everything progressive like me, you'll fall in love with this album directly. Constituted with 8 tracks with a marvelous production, this masterpiece will surprise many fans of this genre. With elements from the current style of PROCUPINE TREE and RIVERSIDE in addition of the excessive but effective use of the keyboards, all this can give a superb combination of sounds and feelings. All that is thanks to the determination of Nils Conrad and his band mates with their musical maturity and their sense to write good music.

The pieces that make up this album are remarkably long, with an average of not less than 8 minutes per song, which ordinary in the world of Progressive. Track names reflect a high reflection at the lyrics. A great reflection also used in the arrangements with the use of atmospheric and electronic elements especially on the track "As Heaven Dies". As we go in the middle of the album, the songs take a more Metal trend as on the track "Breathe" for example, which has strengthened my appreciation for this German band.

For me it is one of the best achievements this year regarding the world of Progressive Rock, do not pass your way without the benefit of what this quartet CRYSTAL PALACE.
