Cephalic Carnage - Misled By Certainty album cover

Where did we last meet with CEPHALIC CARNAGE? Oh yes, it was three years ago with "Xenosapien". Well, the good thing is these psychos haven't changed anything since then. "Misled By Certainty" moves around the same patterns, though you can't easily describe these musical patterns as something "classic" for sure, hahaha!

With not much to say about CEPHALIC CARNAGE, but with several stuff to say about their brand new offering, I will start right away. The Colorado potheads prove - once again - that their creativity will never cease fire, since "Misled By Certainty" is one more magnificent sample of... Well, of their own brand of Technical Death Metal/Grind. The only thing that has changed since "Xenosapien" is one of the two guitarists, since Brian Hopp replaced Zac Joe, but that didn't seem to bother CC at all. The album shows its true intentions right from the start with insane rhythms and tempo changes that will probably cause epilepsy to several listeners!

The sound variety contained in "Misled By Certainty" is once again extremely wide, with schizophrenic patterns giving their place to relentless Death Metal outbreaks or melodic breaks, while Lanzig Leal proves to be a charismatic vocalist with his throat spitting venomous screams, demonic growls or singing clean melodic catchy choruses. Except for the incredible music these guys offer once again and the crystal clear sound that accompanies their last albums ("Misled By Certainty" was recorded at the band's own recording studio with longtime engineer/producer Dave Otero), CEPHALIC CARNAGE still manage to maintain this unique sound that has made them differ from the rest of the technical Death/Grind crap out there.

Let's not forget that there is no other band that can play Hydrogrind so well out there, hahaha!

PS: Digital promos are already watermarked. You don't have to put beeping or voiceovers to make the reviewer's work even harder. Thank you labels.
