Cadaveria - Horror Metal album cover

It's an enjoyable surprise that this album has nothing to do with the cover (awfully industrialized, with that "modern" style that has been tearing the shit apart of good covers) this album, for a girl/band known for her raw and growling style of singing, is a defiant moment in her career, why? Simply because she has the lady balls of using her clean voice in a very good part of this release, without taking out the force and characteristic sound, even is pretty defiant the start of "flowers in fire" clean, slow, with gothic dyes always beautiful.

Musically is nothing surprising, I'm not saying that's bad, opposite to that, is absolutely good, really good instrumentation, fitting altogether perfectly for every song, the riffs are decent, not many solos, bass lines that carry the rhythm of the song, keys that make the perfect harmony when it's needed, and of course, CADAVERIA makes a good return in charge of the voices here, sometimes making the listener to think there are two vocals here.

The low part, I may say, it's the absence of really fast Metal drums parts, they have decided to go mid tempo, for almost the entire album which could became boring sometimes, here and there you hear the Black Metal drums, which are pleasant and grateful, but they're just few.

For an absence of 5 years in the scene, it is a very good comeback, not their best, because that goes to her first solo album. But this release make think to the fans of good Metal, that there're still people out there true to what they have done, and they're not planning to quit sometime near, which is good for us.
