Bombs Of Hades - Carnivores (Reissue) album cover

BOMBS OF HADES has been one of the earlier additions to the re-emerging Swedish Death Metal hazardous malignancy wave of bands such as BLOOD MORTIZED, ZOMBIFIED, NERCOCURSE, BASTARD PRIEST, TORMENTED, REVOLTING and numerous of others bound by obscenity and degeneration. After igniting their local market with fistful of old school Death Metal extremity a year ago with "The Serpent's Redemption", Blood Harvest Records issues one of their earlier works entitled "Carnivores", a five song EP first time to be released in a 7" vinyl record. "Carnivores" will take you back to 2008, a year when the band's old lineup unleashed its bloody hammer upon its local scene and the world with flesh gutting Death Metal pulverised by BOMBS OF HADES's old antics as a Crust Punk entity. With nothing a shred of ingenuity, this band was able to channel a swift renewal of the old Swedish Death Metal barbarism, its measured grotesquery, occult fragments and the reek of decay.

Essentially, "Carnivores" was a morbid fast journey into the past and back. BOMBS OF HADES outwardly created several good ideas with decent songwriting conveying their blackness and viciousness. "Necronomicus Kanth (The Hounds Of Hell)", sadly too short of a track leaving a taste for more, appeared as if it was an intro, yet its hellish nature, lining in the things, is a burst of unqualified brilliance with a slow marsh like drumming, an atmospheric as if the next sacrifice is on its way with crude lead guitar licks played out to be simple, yet effective and an overall main riff that engulfed the morbidity of the vocals just right. This one felt like a true Death Metal tune in comparison to the others that appeared to be quite zealous shifting through Crust Punk Death ("Disrespect Their Bones") and a few catatonic Doom ("Coffin") and soiled Black / Thrash Metal foretastes ("Slaughter The Dead"). All in all, there is a fine flow to this EP, though these are short tracks, I believe it enough to digest out of this band, and a great interlude right before reaching their full length distributions. BOMBS OF HADES, as I stated earlier, has nothing fresh to offer better yet overwhelming, but their attitude and abilities to manifest old school Death Metal are highly evident and dully noted. I suggest upon examining this nefarious EP.
