Erzketzer
Arroganz

The German Death Metal underground birthed a nasty one back in 2008. Ten years later, ARROGANZ is prepared to wreak even more destruction than they started with their first EP, Erzketzer. Three tracks of diseased audio foaming at the mouth with blind rage. The title track is a ferocious beast, stalking and foraging through the dirt on heavy, bass track paws. The name 'Erzketzer' literally translates to 'Arch-Heretic'. The enigmatic K towers over the instrumentals, roars and closes in on the kill. The first track reaches from the darkness with multiple tentacles, whipping and wriggling, ensnaring your senses and dragging you to its den to be slowly digested.
Listening to Erzketzer, ARROGANZ proves that they've clearly done extensive research about Old School Death Metal. Echo chamber screaming vocals against dissonant backdrops of noise and copious amounts of droning bass. ARROGANZ knows exactly how to build an atmosphere. The weight of which can be felt with the static, sparking chords of "By Glowing Chains", the air so electrified you can smell ozone. The song erupts midway into a cannibalistic rage, K's vocals going mad and eating its own reverb while T's drums pounds P's guitar chords into thick sludge.
The rage ends and the epically titled, final track "As Furious Wings Cast Long Shadows" lets the basslines lull the listener into a very false sense of security. There is a source of reckoning on the horizon, one that's about to block out the sun. The sky blackens as apocalyptic levels of chords build themselves high and then violently crash into each other. Disparaging lyrics speak like a sermon heavy preacher, a disheveled tweaker on a milk crate. They paint an damning picture of the end, and it's a furious and bitter one. ARROGANZ's Erzketzer wants to tear down the cosmos and spit in the face of God.
