Anand - A Man's Mind album cover

Guitar wizard Anand Mahangoe was born in Surinam, South America in 1974. And to make it even more complicated, his ancestors were from India! This guy claims that in the beginning he thought that bass was a 4 string guitar and other amazing stories like that but when somebody listens to this CD he finds out how much this guy is lying! He then took guitar lessons for almost two years from a great guitar player called Paul Menzing... And then one day he saw the light!
It was the light coming from Joe Satriani's guitar (reminds me of me!), at a concert he gave in Holland! He immediately knew that this was (and still is) his destination: to make Instrumental guitar music!  After the success of last year's Joy 4 Ever, Dutch guitar ace Anand Mahangoe sees  his debut album A Man's Mind gets a re-release via Lion Music.
The album contains an updated sound and bonus tracks which are sure to appeal to fans of classic Joe Satriani and Steve Vai - a worthy collection for any guitar fan's collection. Anand has also participated as support act for Tony MacAlpine and others.
From the first notes of this album we come to the conclusion that this guy REALLY adores the aforementioned modern Gods of the six string Goddess but he can also add his own unique touch and signature to his music. Joe and Steve would be very delighted to have Anand as a G3 maybe in the future! I honestly think that this record is the coolest one in the genre of Hard Rock Guitar Instrumental, that I have heard since last year's Is There Love In Space?.
My favourite track from this record is Attack Of The Horrible Space Babes which takes you to another dimension and has a distinctive space feeling due to the major guitar scales he uses. Andy La Roque would love to participate in Another Side Of Me with his unique clear style. The cooler parts of this album seem to be Return From The Red Bananaworld, Attack Of The Horrible Space Babes, What's On A Man's Mind and Midnight Chaser among others. Anand's work even though it mostly appeals to guitar freakz - will definitely NOT let you down if you are not acquainted with the instrument. Above all the music flows very easily with a Satrianian / Vaian / Anandian way and will keep ya satisfied!
