WAR MASTER Starts Lust For Battle Tour This Week; Unholy Grave Split Records Available On Tour
July 2, 2014
Still smoldering from their Blood Dawn 3 tour, War Master has oiled the death machine and set its course for the American West. Starting on Independence Day, the band plays Austin at the Mohawk club as part of American Icon Records' expo featuring doom icons, Pentagram. From there the war machine rolls throughout the American West. Four of the nine dates will be spent in California. On the 13th of July, War Master joins Terrorizer, Nausea, Phobia, Wehrmacht and several more bands as part of Los Angeles Grindcore Fest. Check below for a complete list of tour dates.
Patches, t-shirts, CDs and cassettes will be available for purchase at each show. Their split with Unholy Grave are exclusively for sale on tour. Visit War Master's Big Cartel page for pre-orders that ship in mid-July. In addition to the 500 copies of this 12" split LP, the band also has limited edition (100 copies) pressed green vinyl and ultra-rare (50 copies) test press copies containing unique, hand-drawn center labor at work. Art work by Daniel Shaw.
The idea for the split dates back to pre-War Master days, when Insect Warfare toured with the Japanese grinders. War Master met Travis Bonner at a Morbid Angel show in Austin during in December 2013. Bonner recorded the two tracks "Mass Cremation" and "Sadistic Force" during one of the coldest days in the early winter of 2014. Both tracks relate a rawer production than previous recordings and emphasize the jolting riffs found on the first couple of Entombed and Grave albums. The Unholy Grave side includes five tracks of coarse-toned grindcore. Each track relates raw-boned riffs, hemorrhaging voices and shuddering blast beats.

...mid-paced-to-screaming fast death/thrash with power, conviction, and not a little menace, raised up on Possessed and Master and left to rot.
-Metal Sucks
...a good, healthy, cathartic gang-against-one-man beatdown that's sure to be addictive.
-CVLT Nation
"[War Master] moves through the battlefield of trendy Death Metal like Achilles through the Trojan army....your head will bang. The crusade for perfection has been achieved."
-Metal Curse
...a frenzied, manic performance of...Bolt Thrower-inspired death metal...energetic live show. Vocalist Rahi had the crowd laughing between songs with his offbeat, growling banter, and even brandished a sword while chugging beers....don't miss War Master if they play near you.
