Hammerheart Records is proud to announce a co-operation with a band that can only be labelled as different and special: Tengger Cavalry!
The band originates from China (Beijing), and currently is located in New York. Tengger Cavalry have been turning heads in the music world since the band's inception in 2010 they blend the nomadic music tradition of Central Asia with heavy metal, creating a unique genre of music known as Nomadic folk metal. Having sold out Carnegie Hall in a legendary performance and been featured in CNN, Vice, the Guardian, Wall Street Journal and the Village Voice, among countless others, the band is ready to take on the world. Band name in Chinese: é"éª'. In Mongolian Shamanism, Tengger (also spelt Tengeri) is the Sky-father, Lord of the Celestial Sphere. Tengger Cavalry is mostly influenced by Mongolian cultures and shamanism, but musically they also incorporate elements from Turkic nomadic folk music.
