Spirytus started life in 2004 but it was not until 2010 that the band reallysettled on their sound and path. The metal groove crew dropped their debutalbum four years ago and it picked up extensive national coverage. Thequintet went on to widely tour and hit the festival circuit racking upappearances at Ibiza's Hard Rock Hell Road Trip (where they played for threeconsecutive years. In 2011, Spirytus opened for Ill Nino, as well as playingthe Kick Out The Jams Festival and Hammerfest, where they headlined theFresh Blood Stage. Spirytus also played Hammerfest again in 2012, after theybeat over 1000 bands at the Highway to Hell competition to win a slot toappear at the festival. Along the way, Ryan from the band, has also managedto sing on stage with Fred Durst on three separate occasions; his band mate,Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, refers to Ryan as 'the guy with the loudestvoice on the planet'.
Despite the accolades garnered for their debut album, the fivesome wanted toevolve their sound and in doing so they parted ways with one of theirguitarists, recruiting a turntablist to further enhance their funkytendencies. Now with a revitalised line-up featuring Ryan Walton (Vocals),Ben Edis (Bass), Mike Ranzetta (Guitar), Ben McAlonan (Drums) and DanielJones (Turntablist) and a rejuvenated sound that merges animated party-timefunk with the fiery edge of modern metal, Spirytus unveiled their new EP'The Fundamentals EP', which received strong support from Scuzz TV,Powerplay and Rocksound, as well as picking up a host of coverage from aseries of key online publications. The band are set to up the stake againwith the release of their killer new video 'All Because of Me', which is dueto hit TV screens this Autumn.
