We are SCYLLA. In its basic form we are a five piece Metal band from Arizona. For those who like to put a nice label on bands you could call us a Deathcore / Hardcore band, but that's if you want to get technical. We're from the Phoenix area, but since our main venue is The World Famous Nile Theater we like to call Mesa our home.

The band started with our lead guitarist Ruben Dangle. While touring with his Pop Punk band he started getting the Metal itch. The itch you get when you just need to hear and write heavier music. He started writing riffs that would eventually become the foundation for SCYLLA. When the stars aligned and the time was right, Ruben got his friends together to form SCYLLA in late 2012. Nathan (Nate Dawg) came in to hold down the bass. Since he plays bass and we felt bad for him and we decided to let him provide back-up vocals as well. Keenan later joined as our fearless front man. He's all about getting the crowd to move and have a good time, so if you come to a show of ours then be prepared to jump around.

After the release of the EP in early 2014, Fidel and Hamilton came in. Fidel was discovered by the power of modern day internet with a YouTube cover and it turned into a fairy tale ending. If there is anything we've grown to learn about him, it's that this guy loves Gordon Biersch and he is an amazing guitar player. At the same time Hamilton came in to play the drums. Besides his ethnic diversity, Hammie J actually isn't half bad when it comes to drumming. In the end we all just want a guy that plays to a click though. You never know what's ahead when it comes to band members.Someone could leave due to creative differences or one might hire someone to kill their wife, but this line-up feels pretty solid.

The future is bright for SCYLLA. We are currently writing for our second EP. With Ruben as the core writer you will still hear that SCYLLA sound, but with the new mix of Fidel and Hamilton you can already hear a fresh new style. You can definitely expect heavier and more technical. There is no specific date set but keep your eye out for early next year. Scylla will also be hitting the road for our first tour. SCYLLA recently co-headlined with UNDER CITIES on the "Harder Than You Think Tour". We are really excited to hit this milestone and we would like to thank The Sights Set North Agency for giving us this amazing opportunity to travel and spread our music. We take pride in our music, but with the energy we bring we are definitely a band you want to see live.
