MINDPATROL: Release New Song "For the Living."
November 3, 2018
We are Mindpatrol from tiny Luxembourg, and we are extremely proud to inform you that we have cooperated with the development team of London 2038 ' a fan project dedicated to continuing support and development for Flagship Studios' Hellgate: London ' by composing a song named "For The Living" for the game. Metal and video games have brought to life many fruitful cooperations with examples like Blind Guardian (Sacred 2, The Dwarves), Van Canto (Runes Of Magic) or Meshuggah's Fredrik Thordendal (Wolfenstein: The New Order) have shown.
Hellgate: London was released in 2007 and marked a unique combination of Action Role Play Games like Diablo and shooter games, with as much as three novels joining the initial release. The game innovated in many ways, not only being a mental predecessor to games like the critically acclaimed Borderlands series, but also by merging the classic Diablo feeling with MMO-elements. Its highlight was and is up to this day its motivated and helpful community, which has remained active even a decade after the original servers were shut down.
Thanks to the team behind London 2038, players can still witness the many qualities of the original game and spend long hours together hunting monsters. "To The Living" originates from the Templar faction within the game and has over the years become a catchphrase within the community, so we choose this as the title for our song, as our goal lies in strengthening the bond within players even further.
The developers like to add: "When the team at London 2038 was contacted by Mindpatrol about a possible collaboration between the band and the project, we were ecstatic. London 2038 has been a purely volunteer fan-run project, so we are always open to collaboration. We were impressed by the songwriting and technical skill of Mindpatrol, and as metal fans ourselves, we were excited to provide Mindpatrol an opportunity to write music for our project. The song they wrote and recorded fits perfectly with the dark, gothic, post-apocalyptic setting of Hellgate: London that fans know and love, and using their music in-game weaves the community and our project even closer together."
"For The Living" was recorded and mixed in the band's own Muschel Productions Studios and was mastered by Orden Ogan vocalist Sebastian Levermann in his Greenman Studios ' a fitting cooperation, given that Orden Ogan dedicated their evergreen "We Are Pirates" to the Secret of Monkey Island series. It is available on all usual platforms.
