San Francisco/North Bay progressive deathcore unit, Ænimus recently entered NB Studios in Santa Rosa, CA to begin recording their as yet untitled debut full length album with Drummer/Producer Nick Botelho. The band will be filming studio video updates throughout the recording process, and each video will contain short clips of brand new material in order to give fans a taste of what they can expect from the forthcoming album. The first clip showcasing Nick on drums can be seen atthis location.
Nick had the following to say about going from writing the album to finally getting into the studio to start recording, "Coming into the studio to record this album is a huge milestone for Ænimus. This is the first full length album all of us in the band have ever written. We just finished writing and recording the drums for it the day before I had to dismantle all the recording gear to take back to my studio. Despite that last minute pressure, I couldn't be more proud of how it turned out. When I first joined the band, I wasn't really sure if things were going the right direction as far as the writing style, especially since two of the main writers of this album, Brian (Deebs) and Josh, had never been in a band together before. Since then we've come to understand each others musical ideas a little better, and our fans will hear that progression of style in the music. Needless to say, we can't wait for everyone to hear this album!"

The track list for the As Yet Untitled album is as follows:
I. Asherah's Hourglass
II. The Awakening
III. The Grasp of Ruin
IV. Masterpiece
V. Descent Into Chaos
VI. Black Malice Construct
VII. Black Malice Alchemy
VIII. Thrive
IX. Heavy Lies the Crown
X. Inertia
XI. Convictions
XII. The Final Delirium

Ænimus has come a long way in the last 2 years, gaining several thousand fans via social networks and receiving support from established genre heavyweights such as All Shall Perish, Whitechapel, and Within The Ruins. The band has also managed to gain endorsements with EMG Pick Ups, SIT Strings, Saluda Custom Cymbals, and InTune Guitar Picks as well as sponsorships from Berma Clothing and Delusive Clothing, respectively. Their track, "The Grasp of Ruin," was also featured on the soundtrack for Supremacy MMA (Kung Fu Factory/505 Games), which was released last year for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles.

The band will be debuting new material in May when they open up the San Francisco date of the Occupation Domination tour, and have tentative plans to hit the road for a West Coast run later this year.
