1476 To Release "Our Season Draws Near."
February 15, 2017
Salem, Massachusetts' 1476 creates isolationist sound stories, heavy in atmosphere, that draw upon elements of many genres including metal, punk, neofolk and ambient. The band's music harbors an energy and mood that reflects the environment of the old, haunting landscapes of New England's coastal regions. 1476 will release its new album, Our Season Draws Near, on March 31 via Prophecy Productions (Alcest, DOOL, Lotus Thief).
Produced by the band and mixed by Markus Siegenhort of post-black metal spearheads Lantlôs, the winter-themed Our Season Draws Near captures 1476 at its heaviest and most personal apex. The band's fourth LP (and first full-length for Prophecy) strips away the dense layers and production from past albums and delivers the most raw, intimate and urgent record 1476 record to date. Far more guitar and drum-driven than anything the band has created before, Our Season Draws Near showcases 1476 at both maximum aggressiveness and its most delicate, using minimalism, space and the power of dynamics to create massive, heavy sound.
Described as "a small candle flame of life lost in the middle of a winter void," Our Season Draws Near delves into experiences with isolation and alienation and the idea that beneath the frozen surface is an internal fire and desire to defeat these obstacles.

Featuring multi-instrumentalists Neil Derosa and Robb Kavjian, 1476 has been heralded as "America's best kept musical secret". As a two-piece, they are completely self-contained; since forming in 2010, 1476 has written, recorded, and released their albums and EPs through their own imprint and studio, Seraphim House. The group's DIY development has freed it from any and all genre restrictions and allowed the duo to boundlessly delve into conceptual worlds such as mythology and esotericism, reinventing itself with each release on its own terms. In 2016, it was announced that 1476 had signed with respected underground indie Prophecy Productions. For more, visit 1476Cult.com and follow the band on Facebook:

"Comprised of Robb Kavjian and Neil Derosa, 1476 has devoted a good chunk of its lyrical topics to its New England locale, telling tales of its past inhabitants, unrelenting winters, and the early days of our fine country. 1476's blend of metal, neo-folk, rock, and experimental was good enough for stalwart German label Prophecy Productions to take notice and sign the band to a deal earlier this year...genre-bending" - DEAD RHETORIC
"The city of Salem, Massachusetts has long provoked thoughts of the esoteric in the minds of those with a basic grasp of early American history. At the risk of stating the obvious, having long been associated with the eponymous Witch Trials, the city acts as fertile soil from which a musically explorative art rock band like 1476 can propagate. Meshing together a variety of sonic styles and tones in pursuit of capturing the essence of New England's 'aura' or character, the two-piece band continues to reinvent itself with each release." - HEATHEN HARVEST
