Suffocation, now regarded as one of the most influential original Death Metal bands, was initially founded as Social Disease back in 1986. The band debuted with a lineup consisting of vocalist Frank Mullen, guitarists Doug Cerrito and Terance Hobbs, bassist Josh Barohn and drummer Mike Smith. This unit arrived with the 3-track demo tape Reincremation in 1990. Suffocation's inaugural album release, Human Waste, emerged in 1991, via Nuclear Blast Records in Europe and Relapse in America.
This album is beyond classic standards. It is obvious that when you're listening to Suffocation, you feel that your life is about to end in split seconds. It is self evident that we're talking about a devastating, skull-crushingly Death Metal album. In these 23 minutes that the album lasts, Suffocation manage to rip all of your internal organs apart and serve them to you in a hot plate! Take a listen at Infecting The Crypts and you won't need more than a second to realise that this is their most vicious album to date. In 1994 Suffocation donated the track Infecting The Crypts to the Live Death compilation album. There are also 3 songs here from their Reincremated demo from 1990. These songs are: Human Waste, Involuntary Slaughter and Reincremation. There is a diffuse, vicious old school Death Metal atmosphere here which makes this album really worthwile!
The guitar sounds really rotten and definitely old school! This makes the whole record extremely fucking cool! The guitar leads are chaotic but very technical at the same time. Doug Cerrito and Terrance Hobbs are perhaps the most effective guitar team in Death Metal. If you are a Death Metal fan, there is no way that you will not admire this gem! Highlights of this album are... the whole album! Dig in this re-issue to rediscover the true meaning of Death Metal and you will not regret it for a while, my friends!
