Well, besides being the band of a man I consider my friend; it is pure Heavy Metal, the kind that reminds you why in first place you started listening to Metal, and why is still alive the spirit of all the metalheads, because the tireless effort of people with talent and with energy

For all that this band means (especially Laihiala since SENTENCED), I have always had a special affinity with this kind of Metal, depressive, aggressive, lyrically full of context, and of course melodies that kept me trying in the worst of times, and of course, we should not forget that this band still finds a way to innovate in their unique way.

INQUSITION is one of the most consistent bands in the whole metal world, since 1988 they have been true to Black, and to all that it means, "Obscure Verses Of The Multiverse" is just another good example that even when time passes by, the black metal is a genre that still has darkness within, and surrounds all in you! Holy Hell I missed this a lot!

KATAKLYSM is another example that the season may change, but the sound is still the same in essence, after all of these years, the sound has become more refined, but with all the aggressiveness and violence that has been known for, this album is not their top, but in the last years they have not let down all the fans.

There's no need to tell who DREAM THEATER are, and this album is a proof that they are a band and not a man, this doesn't come from "the Golden Ages", but with all the talent and creativity together in a single band, what could you expect?, they are the best at what they do, and will pass a long long time before someone could say otherwise.

It is not that I take advantage of my position in writing this, but after I have met James Labrie Personally (Just for a minute or two, enough to make me see he is not the person I think he was, and I let you judge that), I have to admit that this has become one of my favorites albums, the mixture of harsh voices, with his clean and high vocals, full of energy and melody, makes this an album easy to enjoy and to listen to

The return of one of the biggest bands in the Thrash world, DEATH ANGEL is a synonym of fastness, relentless and pure metal, awesome solos, hellish drums and an unforgettable voice makes this album one of my favorites, reviving my Latin-American roots, where the mosh is the language of Metal.

No. 3
Band: Eternal Tears Of Sorrow

ETERNAL TEARS OF SORROW is a band that I have listened since I was 15, so it is a band that has a special place in my heart, and with this release they have make honor to that place, full of mixtures, melodies going along with amazing keyboard solos, clean and harsh voices, 10 songs, and no failure, hell this must be one of the greatest releases in a long time, even when they have over exploded their style.

No. 2

It is because is BLACK SABBATH, the ones, the greatest and the symbol of heavy metal, and after decades of releasing an album with this line up, they have come with something really good, really strong and really dark, and that is much more than many bands could say about their careers, BLACK SABBATH is the zenith of Metal, and still I get short.

No. 1
Band: Amorphis

Obviously the best release in 2013, AMORPHIS have managed to fulfill all the expectations the fans has always on them, strong after strong release keep coming from the intelligence of the band, this album has everything, not more not less, perfect in every aspect, making a statement on the Metal world: They are here to stay at the top, and there's no easy way to get them down, not after a release like this, full of passion, full of misery, full of what you always feel, but are not brave enough to show it.
