The Brazilian power/prog metal masters SHAMAN just finished the shootings for the video clip of "Nocturnal Human Side", unreleased song that will appear on the band's upcoming new album expected to be released early 2013.
After a 10 days period of shootings in New York City, drummer Ricardo Confessori (Angra), vocalist Thiago Bianchi, bassist Fernando Quesada, guitarist Leo Mancini and the new keyboardist Juninho Carelli shot the final scenes in Brazil in the city of Salto, Sao Paulo state. The hangar with more than 7000 m2 was built more than 50 years ago and its located inside the campus of CEUNSP university, where Fernando Quesada is audio and music coordinator and Juninho Carelli professor of video.
According to the group, there was a very good atmosphere inside the set. Moreover, this was the biggest crew ever working on a SHAMAN video clip. The band counted with more than 20 assistants, three directors of photography, four cameraman, besides the award winning director Alex Batista, with whom SHAMAN had already worked on the videos for "Finally Home" and "Ego Pt 1 e Pt 2".
For Fernando Quesada, this is the biggest and best video production of the entire SHAMAN career!
"It was awesome to count with a big crew and so talented people", comments the bassist. "We worked for 12 uninterrupted hours inside the set, and even with this big structure, everything went fine. Some musicians in the band will play with new instruments for the first time in the clip and we had a big amount of scenery itens."
The drummer Ricardo Confessori thinks that the video for "Nocturnal Human Side" is a reference.
"We had a never seem atmosphere on this clip", he says. "To start, there was a crowd, a lot of people indeed, watching the shootings. There were students, trainees and professors from Ceunsp university that wanted to have this demonstration. And its was exactly what happened! SHAMAN, with all mastery, showed those people how to produce a music video, and how the correct language counts when it comes about to tell a story and make it happen."
Some students of CEUNSP university also took part of the production and Purpleberry SPA Salon took care of the make-up.
The "Nocturnal Human Side" video will be launched in the end of September during Expomusic, the biggest music fair from Brazil. The video is full of special guests, like the vocalist of Symphony X and Adrenaline Mob, Russell Allen, the international top model and actress Renata Diffley and the photographer Antoine Verglas.
