Rockett Love - Greetings from Rocketland album cover

Glam Metal subgenres are strong in Europe in a similar way to what happened on the United States of America back in the 80's, except for the commercial success on radios and TV (reminding the readers that these forms of divulgation aren't as strong as they were on the 80's, if they still exist). But although the success isn't like in the past (even the grandmothers and grandfathers loved to hear SURVIVOR, JOURNEY, BON JOVI and others like in this trend), it doesn't mean that excellent bands can't appear anymore. They appear a lot, as the Swedish quintet ROCKETT LOVE, and they're back for the second round with "Greetings from Rocketland".

It's a heavy and aggressive (but still melodic and hooking) form of Glam Metal/Hard Rock with a ferine ironic touch. Names as MOTLEY CRUE, TYKETTO, SKID ROW, VAN HALEN and others can come to mind as the listener hears this album, but always showing their own personality, energy and amazing choruses. Yes, it's an excellent music, indeed. The band recorded and produced the album, but Erik Mårtensson made the mixing. The efforts were worthy, because the sound quality of "Greetings from Rocketland" shows a perfect blend of the energy of the genre of the past with the modern sound definition of the present.

The songs that are shown on this album are enough to put these guys as one of the spearheads of the genre on Europe. But to have an idea of what they got, the hooking energetic blown of "Back on My Feet" (very good work shown on the guitars and backing vocals), the 'put this song down your throat' approach used on "Bite the Bullet" (excellent melodies and chorus), the accessible outfit of "I Want Out" (a mix between aggressive energy and catchy melodies) and of "Get Ready Go!", the accessible ballad "Take Me Home", the mighty melodic kick in the nose called "King for One Day" and "Writing on the Wall", the Hard/Glam shot in the heart called "Reaching Out" (excellent rhythmic work from bass guitar and drums), and... Forget it! This album is great from the first second of music to the last one, no mistakes, just a high dose of adrenaline in your ears!

ROCKETT LOVE has everything to be a great name of the genre, as "Greetings from Rocketland" is here to prove. Listen to it out loud!
