Satan has arrived!!! Look,I know this probably is the most used line in a black metal review, but what the hell, I'm using it anyway. This is true, pure satanic fucking metal! This sounds like it was made in the 90's heydays, and by far this is just as awesome. This is an album that's right in my wheelhouse, so lets dive in. Listening to MALUM is a first time for me, but though they have been around since 2013, they've not a band I've heard before. Honestly, I don't even know if I need to backtrack into their earlier catalog for a sample; it is all here in this album; everything they're about is right here, and well represented.
The veins of the most pure black metal surround the whole production nowadays. You have harsh vocals, barely understandable like they must sound, a constant riff that reminds one of the bands of the old Finland scene like HORNA. Then you have strong bass lines that makes a perfect accompaniment the ever-blasting drums. Although I really liked this album, I have a duty to inform you, the reader: This is a production only for black metal fans. For anyone else, I'm pretty sure you won't find what you're looking for. Ever cliché that black metal has ever managed since forever, are here: Satan (of course), death, demons, sex, blood, and everything else is well represented.
Honestly, based on that for me, there's not much else left to say, If you're a black metal fan, you will enjoy this, Seven songs made with a black heart, and consistency. That's about all, but as I said, this is really geared more towards black metal fans. As such, if you can't find something that really sticks initially, I'm afraid there won't be much for you here. Go and enjoy if you are into Black metal. Otherwise you should pass it; because even if you try, you will have to let it pass (I loved the last song tittle).
