Aborted is a bloodstained Death / Black Metal band far beyond your average melodic gore-grind outfit. They have been refining their carnal artistry for the past decade. Sickening infectious guitar riffs, ill drum rhythms and not-of-this-world vocal lines define the Aborted way of extreme Heavy Metal. The Archaic Abbatoir sees the band taking their special brand of aural violence to the next (probably the 666th one!) level.
All Hell broke loose in the summer of '95, the world witnessed the birth of a new horror: the Belgian hack squad Aborted had emerged from the depths of the underworld. The band was founded by Gurgloroth Sven. The Archaic Abattoir further emphasizes and capitalizes the progress that was made on  Goremageddon  and takes it 666 + 1 steps ahead!   
Superb extreme and fast Death Metal is what you must be expecting when you listen to these Belgian butchers. There are certain leads which come out of nowhere (with an extensive use of the wah wah pedal) and definitely add bonus points to the whole Aborted project. The music at its whole is very well played. The drummer's technique might even make Paul Mazurkievitz feel envious at certain points. Many Carcass elements can also be found here that would make Bill Steer and Jeff Walker feel very proud for their breeds!
The production is also excellent and you can hear all the instruments thoroughly clear throughout the record! Aborted's voice is the classic one which poses the also classical diptych Hate or Love the voice! The addition of guest vocal appearance by Bo Summer (of Illdisposed), Michael Bogballe (of Mnemic) and Jacob Bredahl (of Hatesphere) make The Archaich Abbatoir even more interesting and gore spattered!
My mom really misses the times when all I heard was melody, less brutal and more easy going in general (i.e. bands like Slayer, Malevolent Creation and Deicide!). But she definitely approves Aborted and all the frenzied Death Metal madness they carry! The fact that in the past they have played with blood monsters such as Deranged, Vomitory, Vader, Cryptopsy, Dying Fetus, Kataklysm and Catastrophic may give you a hint about their artistic and sonic definition in general!
